Spring is nearing and it’s wonderful but sometimes it feels like the spring couldn’t be here fast enough. We have had a few absolutely gorgeous sun filled day and they always makes me smile. But even though we see sun more and more everyday there still will be few of those gloomy days when all you can see is grey and clouds. So here is 5 small things that can help you get that smile on your face.
- Enjoy the nature
The nature is waking up and enjoying its beauty can make anyone smile. Listen to birds; try to see how many different songs you can hear. Look around and notice how one by one everything is turning green again and how the flowers are starting to blossom.
- Listen something that makes you feel good
For me this is something that I always do when I am feeling a bit sad or upset. I find some playlist on YouTube or Spotify that has music I know I enjoy and I listen or sing to it –if I am at home so loud as I can stand or if I’m out I use my headphones. Some music that I like when I’m feeling upset is good old Disney soundtracks because I’m Disney-girl by the heart and they always cheer me up. Right now my favourite are the soundtracks from Moana (or Vaiana) and from the new Beauty and the Beast.
- Eat something good
Even though eating is not the solution when you feel like you can’t smile sometimes it’s 100% accepted to buy yourself some ice cream or have a nice lunch at your favourite place. Or buy yourself some chocolate. If you can make yourself smile spending few euros isn’t it worth it? Or maybe you like cooking like I do, if so maybe cook your favourite meal that makes you always feel happy when you know you will get to eat it.
Flowers are so colourful and beautiful that they probably will make anyone happy. So stop by a florist shop or take a walk in a garden or park or if you feel like it buy bunch of roses or lilies and let them make your apartment a bit brighter.
- Dress for happiness
People say to success you need to dress like it. Same goes when you want to feel happy. So if are at home choose some clothes that you feel comfortable, sexy or good and wear those. Maybe they have floral patterns or they colourful but if you are like me you end up wearing dark colours. So wear something you like and it will make you feel better. the If you can’t change your clothes maybe redo your hair the way you like or add lipstick, sometimes just putting sunglasses on helps me to feel better.
We can’t forget the one thing that it’s the most important: smile. Even if you don’t feel like it, try smiling for a few minutes you might be surprised because most of the time the act of smiling tricks your brain thinking you are happy.
