This super easy to make blueberry pie is my absolutely favourite go to when I am having guests over. Because it’s simple to make and it tastes delicious. It’s a bit different than from pies that most people are used to because the dough isn’t a crumbled one, but instead it’s the same when you bake buns. You can also use this same recipe if you want to bake an apple pie. You just replace the strawberry jam and blueberries with apple jam and apple slices and top it off with cinnamon.

How to make it!

The dough:

 2,5dl milk or water
 1 dl sugar
 1 egg
 75g of butter
 25g yeast (or if you are using dry yeast then 11g is fine)
 1tbls salt
 1 tbls cardamom
 5-7dl flour

 1l of blueberries
 strawberry jam

Start by melting the butter till it’s runny. Then heat the water or milk so it’s luke warm. If you use dry yeast the liquid needs to be a bit warmer. If you are using regular yeast add it to the now warm liquid and whisk till smooth. If you are using dry yeast take some flour and mix the yeast in and let it sit. It’s time to add the egg, sugar, salt and cardamom and stir. When that is all done add the flour. Start by adding few dl of flour and stir with a wooden spoon. Then add the butter. When you can no longer use the spoon use your hands to knead the dough. The dough is ready when it’s no longer sticky. Put a clean tablecloth over it and let it rise for about a half an hour.

After a half an hour the dough should have risen and now it’s time to make it to a pie. Start by rolling the dough to a tin that has been covered greaseproof paper. The dough should cover the whole tin. When that is done take the strawberry jam and add it to the top of the dough so it’s covered. Then add the blueberries evenly on top and if you want you can sprinkle some sugar on top of it to make it taste bit sweeter. If you are using frozen blueberries I recommend adding some potato flour on top as well so when the blueberries melt it will soak up the extra liquid.

Now you are nearly done!

Now put the pie in the oven that’s heated for 200c for about 15-20 minutes depending on the oven. When the dough turns in to a goldish brown colour it should be done. You can test it by sticking a toothpick in to the dough. If the toothpick isn’t wet it’s done.

Now all you need to do is enjoy it! Try eating it with some vanilla ice cream, it’s absolutely delicious.
