Autumn is coming and with it all these delicious ingredients that tastes best when it’s their season. With autumn come not just apples, plums and pumpkins but also the cold weather and the darkness. At least it does when you live somewhere north like in Finland. That’s why I have found it super important to start my day with something that puts me in a good mood.
I wanted to share with you my absolutely autumn go-to breakfast. Oatmeal with apples and cinnamon. This recipe is super easy to make and takes about 10 minutes; everyone should have that much time. You will need some oatmeal flakes, an apple and cinnamon. First add 5dl of water and boil it, then add 2dl of oatmeal flakes in it. Add a pinch of salt to give it some flavour. Let it sit for about 10 minutes while stirring. During this time peel and slice the apple. You know the oatmeal is done when all the water is gone. Spoon the oatmeal to your bowl and add the apple slices. Lastly sprinkle some cinnamon on top of it.
If you are in hurry you can also make this in a microwave. You just mix oatmeal flakes and water and put it in the microwave. Even easier!
